What is Pendekar Academy?

Pendekar Academy is an institute of knowledge research in Kependekaran that promotes the Art of traditional silat in an academic form since 2022.

We teach and train self-defence using Traditional Silat and bring back the Tradional Art of Silat to its original form, which has long been kept secret by a group of knowledgeable heirs. We build a noble morality as an identity through manners with the guidance of a guru.

In Pendekar Academy, you get the full package. We reached not just techniques but also the values that make a true warrior. Our classes are not just lessons; they are experience that shape character and build resilience.

Iskandar Muda Abdul Jalil B Rais also known as Pendekar Temasek was born on 10 September 1962 in Singapore. He is also famously known by the name of Paman.

He slowly began with pencak silat at the age of 6 years old because of his elder brothers and sisters. Ten years later, Paman decided to take it seriously by joining a Silat Group in Gabungan Seni Tari Pencak Sunda GASTAPES.

A year later after following the training, Paman has been picked by a Pendekar named Pak Rifa’i Sahib from Persaudaraan Pencak Silat Cimande Panca Sakti Jakarta.

From that moment, he is guided to learn the knowledge of Kependekaran for over 30 years untill he reach a high level of his studies and rewarded a title of Pendekar Temasek in 2010.

Paman passion for Pencak Silat is palpable, and his dedication to the craft is unparalleled. His approachability and jovial nature have endeared him to many, making him a beloved figure in the community.
